Golden Circle

We arrived in Reykjavik, Iceland from the airport around 8 in the morning (our first destination), which turned out to be just a bit too late to meet up with our host. We were running on little sleep and worried about what to do with our bags. As we were deciding what to do, we encountered our first experience with the kindness of travelers. A man came up to us as we were discussing our gameplan. He had just surfed with the same host. He offered to give us a ride to city center – what a nice gesture! We learned that he and his travel buddy were from Philadelphia and exploring Iceland for three days. They sent us off with some recommendations. We chose to do a bus tour of the Golden Circle. As it turns out, we were able to leave our bags in the excursion company’s luggage room and spend a few hours touring the city. At the end of the tour, we were dropped off at a hotel directly across the street from our host. If you ever get the chance to come visit Iceland you should take the time to make the ~270km trek… What a beautiful place! Check out more photos of the tour on our Flickr page.
