As frequenters of Chicago’s Greektown restaurants, we were definitely looking forward to trying out the Greek food in its native environment. Lena was very excited to have fresh, grilled octopus in the Greek islands. There, it’s caught and served on a daily basis.
When first outlining our Itinerary we were planning to be in India in early to mid August. We thought the monsoon would be over with for the most part, especially in the south, where we were hoping to get started. However, while we were in Istanbul we had some time to plan our trip. While looking the weather over, we decided that it’d be wise to delay India by a few weeks. More on India in a future post, but, where would we go?
We were nominated to take part in Travel Supermarket‘s Capture the Colors Contest by Caroline and Josh at Traveling 9 to 5. Since we’ve been on our Round the World trip starting in early May 2012, we’ve taken over 7500 pictures, many of which are on Flickr. It took some time to go through and select the best of the best, but it was great going back to relive our memories. Enjoy!
The Greek Islands are a photographer’s dream. The mountains, the Agean Sea, and the traditional white buildings are a recipe for great shots. The most photographed village in Santorini is Oia, which, coincidently, also has the most beautiful sunsets.
